“Black Boy, Breathe.” is a discussion on black men’s views, consumption, procession, and expression of how they are portrayed in the media. Part One follows three black students as I capture them in their own light — their emotions, their passions, their souls, their masks, & the removal of such. With a concept inspired by the work of Arielle W. Gray & the attention to anatomical detail, as seen in Will Henry, this project allows you to navigate three different perceptions and portrayals of Black media, braiding tailored references with new stories.
